The Guardian

Language and Technology

The Guardian is laid out to suit its purpose of informing people of the latest news. I know that  this extract is a webpage because of its use of tabs and links that take you to different subject areas such as 'sport' and 'jobs', also it has a ' Breaking news' bar that updates you of the things as they happen. The Guardian aims at people living in London and who are over the age of 18, this is shown by the language used such as 'business' and 'London'  which is a central point that is focused on here.

the register of this texted is a mix of both formal and informal fitting the mode pretty well, by using both images and writing give it a more relaxed feel.

The Guardian sets the page out in a specific way to catch the readers attention for example the top bar its put into order of what they think the reader thinks is important to read or not. This page relys oncommunication through asynchrorous responses that are not needed instantly and can be over a period of time.

In the modern day this can be accessed in many ways for example on a phone, ipad, laptop, computer, tv etc. This means that the information is more easily accessed and intaken by the genral public on a daily basis.
